2013 has been a challenging yet rewarding year for EBS, as it has for many of our clients. There have been some exciting developments in our industry and the specific ERP packages we are working with:
- Release of the new Microsoft Dynamics NAV R2 2013 product and its enhanced functionality
- Jet Reports 2013
- Our EBS Web Portal development to allow Employee Self Service and HR Management via the web into Microsoft Dynamics NAV Payroll and Project Costing
- Release of new Tencia modules including Job Costing and Bills Of Materials which have enabled us to upgrade more clients onto the latest Arrow technology
2013 has also seen the rise and rollout of Cloud as a firm option for the delivery of ERP solutions. In previous years, predominantly, it was all about talking about it and demonstrating it…2013 has been the year that we actually started doing it. From hosted solutions in Data Centres through to Microsoft’s own platform for hosting called Azure, there are now many options for clients wanting to investigate transitioning their applications to the Cloud.
For SME businesses, the Cloud can provide the following benefits:
1) Access to data anytime and from anywhere
3) Scalability and flexibility to support growth
4) Favourable economics – Pay as you go approach instead of outright lump sum purchase of software
There are many options and choices when it comes to the Cloud, from public cloud to private cloud, full cloud solutions through to hybrid offerings. How the applications your business relies on are transitioned or integrated with Cloud based applications can get confusing. We are happy to discuss and talk through these areas with you.
We have also strengthened our solution offering in the NFP (Not For Profit) sector with added solution IP. In 2013 we were pleased to welcome several new clients such as Australian Drug Foundation, Defence Materials Technology Centre and Comlink to our family.
This led to our first User Group meeting for NFP clients and it is our intention to run these on a quarterly basis and build on the topics and offerings. The success of any User Group meeting is a result of the input and openness of its attendees and their willingness to share ideas and tips. It is a pleasure that the NFP attendees and people involved are all about this philosophy.
Although it has been a challenging year in 2013, we have learnt a lot. We always strive to grow as an organisation and hope to bring new and improved processes and efficiencies to the business and our product offerings in 2014. We would welcome your input and feedback so please don’t hesitate to contact me or one of the EBS team with your suggestions for any improvements that we could make.
Merry Christmas and best wishes to you and your family for a safe and happy holiday period. We look forward to developing and growing our partnership and working with you next year to help you achieve your business goals for 2014.
